Automated End of Recurring Plans

The Fundraise Up platform is designed to give organizations the power to automatically end recurring plans on a predetermined date. Initially available only through our Virtual Terminal, we've now expanded this feature with a user-friendly form-based process.

Who can benefit?

This feature can be beneficial across a wide range of campaigns and events. For example, charity marathons, annual fundraising drives, or environmental campaigns can effectively use this functionality to set a conclusion for recurring donations. It allows organizations to tailor their fundraising efforts around specific events or timelines, making it easier to engage supporters during critical phases of their campaigns. Similarly, educational fundraisers aiming to gather resources for a new school year, or health-related initiatives focusing on awareness months, can set an end date for their donation plans to coincide with the end of these periods. This ensures that fundraising efforts are maximized during the most impactful times.

This feature also holds significant value for Muslim organizations during key periods such as the last 10 nights of Ramadan, the first 10 nights of Dhul Hijjah, and the first 10 days of Muharram, enabling them to harness the heightened generosity of these times to bolster their causes.

How to use the feature

To take advantage of this feature, you need to fill out our straightforward form with specific information. Here's what you need to know:

Required information

  1. Account ID:
    • Definition: This is your organization's ID in the Fundraise Up system.
    • Format: 8 alphabetic characters
    • Location: It can be found in the dashboard URL. It appears after https://dashboard.fundraiseup.com/ in the browser’s address bar.
  2. Recurring ID:
    • Definition: This is the ID of the recurring plan you want to end.
    • Format: Begins with "R" and includes 8 alphabetic characters.
    • Location: It's available on the specific recurring plan page, accessible via the Recurring Plans page.
  3. End Date:
    • Definition: This is the date when the recurring plan should cease.
    • Format: YYYY-MM-DD
    • Note: It must be at least 3 business days in the future from when the form is submitted. For example, if you submit on Friday, February 1st, the earliest possible End date is Wednesday, February 6th.

Export file

To efficiently gather multiple recurring plan IDs in the correct CSV format, our Exports feature streamlines the process. Follow these steps for a seamless operation:

  1. Navigate to the Exports section within the Dashboard.
  2. Proceed to the Templates tab.
  3. Opt for the New template button, marked in green.
  4. In the Export type dropdown, choose New recurring plans.
  5. Apply additional filters as necessary to refine your export.
  6. Move to the File Columns tab.
  7. Hit the Clear all button to eliminate pre-existing columns.
  8. From the Available field section to the right, either select or drag and drop the fields below into your template:
    • Recurring ID
    • Account ID
    • Recurring End Date
  9. Finalize by selecting Download now. This allows you to set the period for which you wish to export recurring plans and initiates the file download.

This procedure ensures your file will be populated with the necessary recurring plan IDs, your account ID, and a designated column for the End Date. Simply input the applicable End Date for the recurring plans in the provided column, and your file will be primed for use.

Submission process

Please complete the submission form once you have the Export file with the End Dates.
