How to reissue a donation receipt

There are various situations where you may need to reissue a receipt for a donation, such as correcting a mistake in the supporter's name or updating the campaign name on the receipt. Fundraise Up automatically reissues receipts when changes are made to the donation's designation or personal information. If you need to reissue a receipt for a single donation, updating the donation's personal information will trigger a new receipt.

Steps to reissue a receipt

To reissue a receipt for a specific donation, follow these steps:

  1. Open Dashboard → Donations.
  2. Find and open the donation you want to reissue a receipt for.
  3. Go to the Personal information section and click Edit.
  4. Update the personal information as needed, such as correcting the supporter's name or address.
  5. Save the changes.
  6. Download the receipt from the Receipt section.

By following these steps, you will trigger the system to generate a new receipt for the donation.

Important notes

  • Receipt issuance date: The reissued receipt will have the new date of issuance, reflecting the date when the receipt was regenerated.
  • Reissuance confirmation: The reissued receipt will include a special line confirming that it replaces any previously issued receipts:
    1This receipt was reissued and replaces any previously issued receipts.

  • Recurring plan donations: If the donation belongs to a recurring plan and the supporter's personal information also needs to be corrected for future installments, consider updating the recurring plan's personal information as well so new installments and their receipts use the correct details.

Automatic receipt reissuance

It's important to note that Fundraise Up automatically reissues receipts in the following scenarios:

  • Donation designation change: If the designation of a donation is modified, a new receipt will be generated to reflect the updated campaign name.
  • Donation personal information update: When the personal information on a donation is updated, this triggers receipt reissuance so the new receipt reflects the updated details.

These automatic reissuance processes ensure that the receipts always contain the most accurate and up-to-date information.
