How to Reissue a Donation Receipt

There are various situations where you may need to reissue a receipt for a donation, such as correcting a mistake in the donor's name or updating the campaign name on the receipt. Fundraise Up automatically reissues receipts when changes are made to the donation's designation or the donor's personal information. However, if you need to reissue a receipt for a single donation without changing the designation, there is a workaround you can follow.

Steps to Reissue a Receipt

To reissue a receipt for a specific donation, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Donation Record:
    • Navigate to the donation record for which you need to reissue the receipt.
  2. Edit Personal Information:
    • Click on the "Edit" button in the "Personal Information" section of the donation record.
  3. Modify the First Name:
    • Add a space to the "First Name" field (e.g., "Robert" becomes "Robert ").
    • Save the changes and reload the donation record page.
  4. Restore the First Name:
    • Removed the extra space.
    • Save the changes and reload the donation record page again.
  5. Download the Reissued Receipt:
    • Click on the "Download" button next to the Receipt section to obtain the reissued receipt.

By following these steps, you will trigger the system to generate a new receipt for the donation without changing the designation.

Important Notes

  • Receipt Issuance Date: The reissued receipt will have the new date of issuance, reflecting the date when the receipt was regenerated.
  • Reissuance Confirmation: The reissued receipt will include a special line confirming that it replaces any previously issued receipts:
    1This receipt was reissued and replaces any previously issued receipts.

Automatic Receipt Reissuance

It's important to note that Fundraise Up automatically reissues receipts in the following scenarios:

  • Donation Designation Change: If the designation of a donation is modified, a new receipt will be generated to reflect the updated campaign name.
  • Donor's Personal Information Update: When any changes are made to the donor's personal information, such as their name or address, a new receipt will be issued to reflect the updated details.

These automatic reissuance processes ensure that the receipts always contain the most accurate and up-to-date information.
