Collect Canadian addresses in the Canada Post format

Address suggestions for supporters in Canada are now built on Canada Post data. A Canadian address filled from a suggestion is saved in the standard Canada Post format: the unit before the street number, standard abbreviations for street types and directionals, and the postal code as A1A 1A1. For example, 405-1340 12th Ave W. PO Box and rural route addresses are covered too.

Suggestions in Canada previously came from a general-purpose address service, which sometimes dropped the street number or returned the address in all capitals.

You can turn address validation on in the Dashboard. Go to Settings > Supporters, and under Supporter mailing address select Validate mailing addresses. The setting applies to donation forms and the Donor Portal.

Addresses outside Canada work as before, and addresses already saved keep their current format.
