New API fields. We’ve added several new fields to our API endpoints to expand the donation data available for export.

GET /donations

  • receipt_id: Unique identifier for donation receipt.

GET /donations and /recurring-plans

  • gift_aid: Gift Aid information for organizations in Great Britain.

GET /donations, /recurring-plans, and /supporters

  • language: Supporter’s language.

Track why recurring plans get canceled. You can now see why supporters cancel their recurring plans, with reasons automatically categorized by AI for easy analysis. Organizations can select from predefined categories when canceling from the Dashboard, while supporters can provide custom reasons through the Donor Portal. All cancellation data is visible on the recurring plan page and available in exports for deeper analysis.

We've also improved the cancellation flow in the Donor Portal with clearer options to pause donations instead of canceling outright.

GTM Consent API integration. Fundraise Up now integrates with the Google Tag Manager (GTM) Consent API. With this feature, cookies will only be set after the user provides consent, helping you stay compliant with privacy regulations. Learn more about cookies in Fundraise Up →

End date for daily donations. You can now set an optional end date for daily donations in your campaigns. By default, daily recurring plans will automatically complete on the chosen date. Supporters can opt to continue donating without an end date by deselecting this option, but they cannot change the end date themselves.

This feature is particularly useful for time-limited campaigns, such as religious holidays, making it easier to manage recurring donations and ensure they end on the right date. Learn how to set the end date for daily donations →

Test Stripe accounts. Organizations can now create sandbox payment accounts directly from the Dashboard (Settings > Payment methods > Stripe > Set up test account). This allows organizations to simulate donations in test mode using the Virtual Terminal and campaigns, without having an active Stripe account. It’s ideal for training staff and validating donation workflows in a risk-free environment.

More sharing options. Supporters can now share a link to a campaign using the standard sharing menu available on their mobile devices. This feature allows them to easily share the campaign link through any app on their device, including messaging apps, social networks, and more.

Additionally, Campaign Pages now include an option to share the campaign link by email, alongside existing social media buttons. You can enable this option at the bottom of the Content section of your campaigns (Dashboard > Campaigns > [Your campaign] > Campaign Page > Content).

Seamless Donor Portal access. Organizations with their own donor portals can now add direct access to the Fundraise Up Donor Portal using our API. This feature lets supporters manage their Fundraise Up donations without logging in again, making it easier to switch between different portals. Additionally, you can enable a “← Back to home” link in the Fundraise Up Donor Portal, allowing supporters to easily return to your own donor portal.

Learn more about setting up Seamless Donor Portal access.

New API resources for Donor Portal access. Our API now includes two new resources for generating direct access links to the Fundraise Up Donor Portal: Donor Portal access Link and Donor Portal recurring plan access Link. These resources allow supporters to move between your organization’s donor portal and Fundraise Up’s without additional logins. Learn more →

Social links localization. Organizations with multilingual social media accounts can now set specific social media links for each language on the Thank you screen and in emails. For example, a Canadian organization with French-specific social media pages can direct French-speaking supporters to those pages, while English speakers will be directed to English content.

Learn how to customize links for emails, the Checkout modal, and Campaign Pages.

Message Bar & Popup scheduling. Organizations can now set start and end dates for the Message Bar and Popup Elements to show and hide on their own. This update makes it easier to manage scheduled or seasonal content, saving time and reducing the risk of manual errors.

Meet the Fundraise Up API. We’ve launched the API that gives you more control over your fundraising data. With this tool, you can process donations raised through non-digital channels — such as events, face-to-face fundraisers, and telefundraising — and view them directly in your Fundraise Up account.

The API also lets you read data from your account and integrate it with your CRMs, analytics tools, and other systems. This keeps all your donations processed through Fundraise Up in one place, making it easier to track your fundraising efforts.

Learn how to get access to the API and how to use it.

Improved filtering. We’ve removed the “P2P Fundraiser” option from the Source filter to improve the accuracy of donation filtering. Donations and recurring plans processed through P2P fundraisers will now be correctly attributed to their original sources, such as the Checkout modal, Campaign Page, or others. This change ensures that all relevant reporting tools, exports, and integrations provide consistent and accurate data. You can still track data from fundraisers by selecting More filters > Fundraiser and choosing Only from fundraiser on the Donations and Recurring Plans pages.

Simplified Upgrade Links. Upgrade Links, our tool for increasing recurring donations, now take less time to set up and can be accessed directly from your CRM. Previously, creating them was a time-consuming manual process, but now we've automated it for you — all you have to do is send them to your supporters.

Upgrade Links are also now included in Export templates, making them easier to use with marketing tools like Mailchimp. Alternatively, you can copy these links directly from your Dashboard for each recurring plan. For added security, Upgrade Links now include a reset option for your Secret key, which can be found in your Dashboard.

Learn more about Upgrade Links and how to create them.

Donor Portal update. Your supporters will now find more detailed information about their donation history in their Donor Portals. Transaction status is now displayed more clearly, providing a better view of donation history and subscription updates. This improvement also helps supporters identify payment issues and potentially reduces the number of failed donations.

Your TikTok profile in emails. TikTok is now available as a social media option in the Dashboard (Settings > Emails) and Campaign Editor (Campaigns > [Campaign name] > Emails). When a TikTok link is provided, a “Follow us on TikTok” button will automatically be added to your supporter-facing emails.

Supporters in the Audit Log. You can now view supporter-related events in the Audit Log, including the addition of new supporters and updates to their personal information. To see these details, go to the Audit Log page in your settings and filter by the “Supporter” event type.

You can also view the history of changes for each supporter on their individual pages in the Dashboard, located in the new “Activity” section of the side menu.

QR codes in SVG format. You can now download your campaign’s QR code as an SVG file, alongside the previously available PNG format, both with transparent backgrounds. This is especially useful for organizations using QR codes in print, at offline events, or on TV.

Amount Counter on Campaign pages. Your Campaign pages can now display the total amount raised during a campaign (Amount Counter), a newly added option, alongside the existing Goal Meter. The Amount Counter, like the Goal Meter, can have an end date and is displayed above the campaign image. You can find these settings in the Campaign progress section (formerly called Campaign goal) of your Campaign Page.

Ability to select number format in Exports. You can now choose the decimal separator — comma (,) or dot (.) — in your export templates, which allows your exported data to align with regional formatting requirements, particularly in Europe. Thousand separators have been removed from exported values for cleaner and more standardized data.

Additionally, a field separator option is now available, allowing you to select between a comma (,) and a semicolon (;), which enhances compatibility with CRMs that require specific list separators.

These changes apply to fields that are exported in the “Amount Only” format.

Existing export templates will continue to function as before, using dot (.) as the default decimal separator and comma (,) as the default field separator, but without thousand separators.

New Open Checkout method in JavaScript API. We’ve added the FundraiseUp.openCheckout method to our JS API. This method lets organizations programmatically open the donation checkout in response to different events or triggers. It supports pre-filled parameters, including supporter details, donation amount, currency, recurring donation settings, tribute information, and designations. By passing the right parameters when opening the checkout, you can create custom scenarios for your supporters.

To learn how to set it up, see the JavaScript API article. To use this method, you must update your installation code to the latest version, otherwise it won’t be available.

New donation statuses in Exports. We’ve added “Donation status” and “Recurring status” fields to export templates. These fields provide more accurate and detailed information about your donations and recurring plans. In addition, previously combined donation statuses have been split into more specific categories for easier tracking.

We're rolling out these changes gradually to give you time to adjust. Learn more about these changes and how to update your export templates.

New “Disputes & fraud” indicator and filter. Now you can instantly see and filter donations that need your attention. Donations flagged for potential fraud or disputes are highlighted in the Donations tab of your Dashboard. Click on the donation to see specific details about the issue, such as the type of warning and required action. Learn more →

Better fundraising with improved Insights. Your dashboard now features an updated Insights tab. With new graphs, you can track donations, spot trends, and make data-driven decisions to improve your fundraising efforts.

The new Performance section in the Insights helps you understand how effectively you're using Fundraise Up's tools, including AI. You can also see which payment methods your supporters prefer, how often they give, and how well your P2P fundraising is going. A donation heatmap and other visualizations provide a clearer picture of your fundraising base, helping you get to know your supporters better and strengthen your connection with them. Learn more →

Monthly receipt archives available for download. We now automatically generate a monthly ZIP archive of all donation receipts. The archive is generated at the beginning of each month and includes all receipts that were issued during the previous month. Previously, you could only download a yearly receipt archive.

Archives for all past months of 2024 are already automatically generated. Find them in the “Receipt archive” table in your Dashboard.

IdP-initiated SSO login. You can now configure Single sign-on (SSO) using IdP-initiated login with custom identity providers such as Auth0, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or any other IdP. While this option is available, be aware that using IdP-initiated login may pose potential security risks. Learn more →

Language selector in Virtual Terminal. When creating a donation through the Virtual Terminal, you can now select your supporters' preferred language. The selected language will be used for future email communications and will be set as the default in the supporter's Donor Portal, where they can change it later if they wish.

This feature is enabled by default for organizations with multiple languages configured in their settings. While available to all, it is especially helpful for organizations in multilingual countries such as Canada. Learn more →

Cookie banners in Quebec. Campaign Pages now display cookie banners for users located in Quebec. This update ensures compliance with Quebec's Law 25 (previously Bill 64). No additional action is required from organizations.

New statuses for donation disputes. We've improved our system to better track the status and outcome of donation disputes. Now, in addition to information about created and lost disputes, you'll see two new events in your Audit Log: “Donation dispute in review” and “Donation dispute won”. We've also updated the historical audit logs with these events, so organizations have a complete history of dispute resolutions.

Polish language. Polish has been added as the 23rd language option for localization on Fundraise Up. Now, the entire supporter experience, including Checkout modal, Elements, Donor Portal, and emails, can be fully experienced in Polish. To enable Polish (or any other supported language), go to SettingsLocalization in your Dashboard. Learn more →

“Recent donations” section update. The “Recent donations” section on Campaign Pages now provides a more complete picture of campaign support by showing the 100 most recent donations, up from the previous limit of 10. For campaigns with over 100 donations, the total number of donations is also shown.

Improved peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising campaigns. P2P campaign goal meters can now show the currency chosen by the fundraiser, even if it's different from the main Campaign currency. This change gives individual fundraisers more control by allowing them to choose a currency that better matches their network.

Single sign-on (SSO). Organizations can now take advantage of SSO functionality that allows users to access multiple applications with a single set of credentials. This feature simplifies the login process for users and increases security through centralized account management.

Fundraise Up's SSO is compatible with all Identity Providers (IdPs) that support the SAML 2.0 protocol, including Okta, Auth0, and Microsoft Entra ID, giving you the flexibility to choose an IdP that fits your organization’s needs. Learn how to integrate SSO with your Fundraise Up account.

ACH US Direct Debit enhancements. It is now possible to set up ACH US Direct Debit as a payment method for planned donations in Virtual Terminal, if the organization has automatic verification enabled. We have also removed the requirement to enter an email or phone number when setting up ACH US Direct Debit payments in Virtual Terminal if the organization uses auto-verification (unless “Make supporter’s email required” is checked). This can be configured under Settings > Virtual Terminal > Payment methods > Allow direct debits to be set up in the Virtual Terminal > Automatic verification.

Campaign creation update. We've updated the Campaign creation process to give organizations more control. Before, the Checkout modal was enabled by default when creating a Campaign. Now, both the Checkout modal and Campaign Page formats start unselected, giving organizations full choice. Detailed descriptions have been added to the Checkout modal and Campaign Page tabs in the Dashboard, making it easier for users to understand and choose from them.

New integration: Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. Fundraise Up now offers an integration with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Salesforce's newest tool for fundraisers. To set up the integration, go to the Integrations page located in your organization's main settings and follow these steps. Learn more →

Automatic Apple Pay enablement with Stripe. We've simplified the Apple Pay activation process. Now, it activates automatically once you configure your Stripe account in the Payment Methods. While domain verification with Apple Pay is still required, our improved status system now clearly displays the verification status of your domain for Apple Pay. This makes it easier for organizations to identify and resolve any verification issues.

ACH US Direct Debit enhancements. More donors can now switch their payment method to ACH US Direct Debit in the Donor Portal. This update applies to organizations that are using automatic verification, not just those with online banking verification. Learn more →

Improved donation frequency selection in the Virtual Terminal. The Virtual Terminal now automatically displays donation frequencies from the settings of the selected campaign, reducing the need for additional selections. A new drop-down menu allows you to choose frequencies from campaign specific or account global settings, making the user experience more intuitive.

Donation Forms added to URL API. We've updated our URL API to support pre-filling fields on Donation Forms using URL values. Previously, this feature was only available for the Checkout modal and Campaign pages.

Enhanced Audit Log for donations and tributes. We've improved our Audit Log to provide greater transparency and easier investigation of changes in the dashboard. Now all changes to donations and tributes, including those in sub-accounts, are thoroughly recorded. This enhancement benefits nonprofits by providing a comprehensive record of both user- and system-generated changes.

Comment field in JavaScript API events. The “Checkout close” and “Donation complete” events now include a comment field. This new field captures the text entered by your donors in the Comment section of both the Checkout modal and Campaign Page. This update gives you seamless access to donor comments at the moment of donation, providing valuable insight and a deeper connection with your supporters.

Add currency in URL API. Now, the URL API supports passing a currency parameter, allowing an organization to specify both the amount and the currency to pre-fill information in the Checkout modal or Campaign Page. Learn more →

Automatic Apple Pay domain verification for subaccounts. Now, the Donor Portal/Campaign Pages domains of subaccounts using their parent account payment methods are automatically verified, enabling faster and hassle-free Apple Pay usage. Learn more →

API upgrade for checkout. We've upgraded our JS API. Now, the Checkout close event sends supporter details like ID, email, name, and subscription status — even if no donation is made. This enhancement provides richer data, helping better understand and engage with supporters. Learn more →

Improved manual synchronization with CRMs. We’ve made manual synchronization more efficient by letting you choose exactly which donations to sync with your CRM. When you start a manual sync, you can now select from three options: sync only donations that haven’t been synced yet, sync all your live donations, or sync all your test donations. This makes the process faster since you only sync what you need. Learn more →

“Remind me later” feature. Enhance your fundraising efforts with our new “Supporters with abandoned donations” feature, which helps you reconnect with donors who began but didn't complete their donations. By capturing their details early, we enable you to send follow-up reminders, increasing the chances of completing the donation. This feature is integrated into both the Checkout Modal and Campaign Pages for seamless operation. Activate it in the Settings tab under the “Supporters” section to start reclaiming lost donations. Find this setting in the “Campaigns” section of your Dashboard settings. Learn more →

This allow you to connect both your organization’s main instance and a sandbox instance to test and fine-tune your integrations. To add an additional integration to another instance of your CRM service, head to the Integrations section of your Dashboard settings and click “Add integration.”

Stripe card renewal update. In response to Stripe's introduction of a 0.25 USD fee for automatic card update services, we've revised our payment method management. Automatic card updates will be utilized only for active recurring plans and not for one-time donations, thereby minimizing unnecessary fees while still ensuring seamless card updates for your recurring donors.

German titles. German organizations can now opt to ask supporters for their title (Herr, Frau, Prof., or Dr.) To enable this option, to go the “Supporter” section of any campaign’s settings and enable the “Ask for title” checkbox.

Donate button in list-type Elements. We’ve added the option for a “Donate” button to our Top Supporters, Top Locations, and Recent Donations Elements. With this addition, these three Elements will now also prompt action as well as showcasing other donors’ contributions. To enable this button, select the “Show donate button” checkbox in the Element settings.

Impact descriptions. You can now boost generosity even further with impact descriptions, giving donors an idea of how exactly their donation might be used by your organization — “$50 feeds one family for a week”, for example. When added to a campaign, these impact descriptions will appear on both your Campaign Pages and in your Checkout modals next to each suggested amount. To start adding impact descriptions open the Settings tab in one of your campaigns and find the Suggested Amounts section. Learn more →
