Consolidated receipts for multi-designation donations

When a supporter donates to multiple designations in one transaction, they now receive one consolidated receipt — not a separate receipt for each designation.

The consolidated receipt shows the total amount paid and a breakdown of each designation with its amount.

This applies to the first transaction only. For recurring plans, each subsequent installment continues to generate a separate receipt and email per designation, as before.

A new Grouped Donation receipt template is now available under Settings > Emails > Receipts, alongside the existing One-time receipt, Plan receipt, Installment receipt, and Annual summary receipt templates.

This template is sent for the first transaction when a supporter gives to two or more designations.

Check your email templates

The Donation Designation and Donation Designation Code personalization tags are no longer available in email templates for:

  • Donation in progress
  • Donation failed
  • Donation refund

If your email templates use these tags, they won't populate for grouped donations.

Deprecated fields

Review your templates and remove or replace these tags if needed. You can do this in Settings > Emails.
