New Element: Zakat Calculator

You can now add a Zakat Calculator to your website, letting supporters determine their Zakat obligation according to Islamic principles and donate in one flow.

The Element appears as a button on your page — when supporters click it, a modal window opens with the calculator. After completing their calculation, supporters go directly to checkout with the calculated amount.

How it works

The calculator walks supporters through the calculation process. They select their currency and Nisab basis (gold or silver), then enter their zakatable assets — cash, investments, gold and silver holdings, and business assets. Next, they enter deductible liabilities. The calculator determines their net zakatable wealth and compares it to the Nisab threshold.

If net zakatable wealth meets or exceeds Nisab, Zakat is due at 2.5% of the net amount. The calculated amount transfers to checkout as a fixed value that supporters can't edit. If wealth falls below Nisab, no Zakat is due, but supporters can choose to make a voluntary Sadaqah donation with suggested amounts they can edit.

Supporters who already know their Zakat amount can skip the calculation and enter it directly.
