Pledges: a new campaign type
Organizations can now run pledge campaigns in Fundraise Up — a new campaign type where supporters commit to a total amount and pay it down in installments over a set period. Supporters choose their own schedule, track their balance in the Donor Portal, and your team manages every pledge from the Dashboard.
Pledges give supporters a way to commit to a larger total than they would give at once and pay it down over time — a fit for annual giving drives, capital campaigns, and other timed appeals.
How supporters pledge
A supporter reaches a pledge campaign through its direct link or an Element on your site — a button, link, or QR code. They enter a total commitment, then pick a payment frequency and a start and end date. Fundraise Up calculates the installment amount and the number of payments, then shows the full schedule before they confirm. A supporter can also fulfill a pledge in a single payment.
Management for supporters and your team
After pledging, supporters manage their commitment in the Donor Portal: update a payment method, adjust the frequency or dates within the campaign's limits, skip an installment, or cancel.
Your pledge campaigns live under Pledges in the Dashboard, where you can track how much each campaign has collected and committed. Go to Recurring to open any individual pledge, and make changes a supporter can't — such as adjusting the committed amount.
Emails, CRM, and exports
Each campaign sends its own lifecycle emails, from the pledge confirmation through installment receipts to a fulfillment notice. Pledges sync to your CRM marked apart from open-ended recurring giving. You can also add pledge fields — the commitment amount and end date — to your recurring plan exports.
