Sync soft credits for peer-to-peer fundraisers in Salesforce
You can now sync soft credits to Salesforce NPSP and Salesforce Agentforce for Nonprofits (formerly Nonprofit Cloud). A soft credit attributes a donation to the fundraiser who brought it in. When a supporter donates through a peer-to-peer fundraiser's page, the supporter who gave receives the hard credit, and the fundraiser who drove the donation receives the soft credit. Soft credits let your organization measure how much each fundraiser brings in, without affecting financial totals.
Both integrations sync the hard credit only until you turn soft credits on. Once enabled, you choose which role the fundraiser receives in your CRM. Soft credits apply to one-time and recurring donations — each installment of a recurring plan adds to the fundraiser's total.
Salesforce NPSP
Each donation creates an Opportunity. The supporter who gave is linked as the primary contact, and the fundraiser is linked with the role you set. Salesforce NPSP adds the donation amount to the soft credit rollup on the fundraiser's Contact record.
Salesforce Agentforce for Nonprofits
Each donation through a fundraiser's page creates a Gift Soft Credit record on the Gift Transaction, linked to the fundraiser's Person Account. Recurring plans also carry a default soft credit on the Gift Commitment, so future installments inherit it.
