Tap to Pay: accept in-person donations from your smartphone

Tap to Pay brings in-person fundraising into Fundraise Up — no card reader or additional hardware needed. Organizations running events, door-to-door campaigns, or on-site collection can now collect contactless donations through the same campaigns and account they already use for online giving. The only addition is the Fundraise Up mobile app on a staff member's smartphone.

A staff member opens the app, selects a campaign, and enters the donation amount. The supporter taps their card, phone, or watch against the staff member's smartphone to pay. They can choose to cover transaction costs, select a donation frequency for recurring giving, and receive a receipt by email or QR code on the confirmation screen.

In-person donations appear alongside all other giving in Insights, the Donations page, and exports — attributed to a dedicated "Tap to Pay" source. In exports, each donation includes Created By User fields — ID, first name, last name, and email — identifying which team member accepted it.
