Collect donations on a tablet with Giving Station

The Fundraise Up app now runs on tablets, not only phones. On a tablet it opens in a new mode, Giving Station: the tablet stays on a donation screen that supporters use on their own, with no team member taking each gift. Set one up on a reception counter, at a registration desk, or beside an exhibit, and supporters give by themselves — enter an amount, tap a card or digital wallet, and the screen resets for the next person.

Giving Station sits alongside Tap to Donate, the phone mode where a staff member or volunteer collects each donation by hand. Which mode runs depends on the device, and the app selects it automatically.

Card readers

A tablet with built-in NFC reads cards directly, with no extra hardware. An iPad, or a tablet without NFC, uses an external Stripe card reader that connects over Bluetooth. Any Stripe Terminal reader works.

Two campaign types

Tap to Donate and Giving Station are now separate campaign types, each with its own section in the Dashboard. Keeping them apart makes both easier to run: a Giving Station campaign shows only the settings that fit a self-serve station, its campaigns appear only on tablets, and its donations carry a Giving Station source in your reports, exports, and the API — so you can track each mode on its own.

To set up either mode, see Fundraise Up app for in-person donations.
