Sync multi-designation donations as one record in Salesforce NPSP

You can now map Fundraise Up designations directly to GAU Allocations in Salesforce NPSP, and optionally sync multi-designation donations as a single Opportunity instead of one per designation.

New mapping object: GAU Allocation

The Salesforce NPSP integration now supports GAU Allocation as a destination object in mapping rules. This lets each designation in a multi-designation donation appear as a separate allocation line on a single Opportunity, rather than creating separate Opportunities.

To set this up, go to Settings > Integrations > Salesforce NPSP > Export (sending data to CRM) > Mapping rules and add a rule from Designation to GAU Allocation.

New setting: Sync multiple designations donation as one donation

A new checkbox, Merge donations with multiple designations, is now available in Settings > Integrations > Salesforce NPSP > Export (sending data to CRM) > General settings.

When checked:

  • One-time donations that share a Grouped Donation ID sync to Salesforce NPSP as a single Opportunity instead of separate records per designation.
  • The Grouped Donation ID serves as the unified record ID in Salesforce.
  • The sync log shows one entry per payment with all sync attempts combined.

This setting is off by default. Donations always display as separate records in the Dashboard regardless of this setting. This setting requires at least one GAU Allocation mapping rule to be configured.
