Fee coverage options for in-person donations

Tap to Donate and Giving Station campaigns, which take in-person donations through the Fundraise Up app, now let you choose how supporters can cover transaction costs. Until now, you couldn’t choose: supporters always saw the option turned off and had to turn it on themselves.

Each campaign can use one of four modes:

• Preselected coverage: the option is turned on, and supporters can turn it off.
• Opt-in coverage: the option is turned off, and supporters can turn it on.
• Mandatory coverage: every donation includes the fees, and supporters can’t opt out.
• Disabled coverage: supporters don’t see the option, and your organization pays the fees.

New campaigns start with Preselected coverage. Existing campaigns keep Opt-in coverage, so they work as before until you change them.
