Sync soft credits for peer-to-peer fundraisers in HubSpot and Virtuous
You can now sync soft credits to HubSpot and Virtuous G&C Import Write. A soft credit attributes a donation to the fundraiser who brought it in. When a supporter donates through a peer-to-peer fundraiser's page, the supporter who gave receives the hard credit, and the fundraiser who drove the donation receives the soft credit. Soft credits let your organization measure how much each fundraiser brings in, without affecting financial totals.
This adds HubSpot and Virtuous to the CRMs that support soft credits, alongside Salesforce NPSP and Salesforce Agentforce for Nonprofits.
Both integrations sync the hard credit only until you select Sync soft credits in General settings. Soft credits apply to one-time and recurring donations, and each installment adds to the fundraiser's total. Fundraise Up matches the fundraiser in your CRM and creates a contact record when it finds no match.
HubSpot
Each donation through a fundraiser's page creates a Deal carrying two Contacts: the supporter who paid, labeled Hard credit, and the fundraiser, labeled Soft credit. Soft credits require HubSpot Professional or Enterprise, since they rely on association labels. See HubSpot CRM.
Virtuous G&C Import Write
Donations are imported under a Segment that belongs to the fundraiser, using the Virtuous peer-to-peer structure. Each donation appears on the fundraiser's Contact record under Peer-to-Peer / Influenced Giving and counts toward their fundraising totals. Soft credits need a Virtuous Campaign to record against, taken from your special rules or your default segment. See Virtuous G&C Import Write.
