Tap to Donate is now available in Canada

Organizations in Canada can now collect in-person donations with Tap to Donate and Giving Station. The app runs in Canadian English or Canadian French, and donations are processed in Canadian dollars.

A specialist sets the language on the device under Settings > Language, and the choice applies to both modes. At a Giving Station, a supporter can switch the language for their own donation from the donation screen.

Campaign content is translated in the Dashboard. When you create a Tap to Donate or Giving Station campaign, you choose its default language. A Localization section on the campaign Settings and Emails tabs covers the campaign title, message, consent and terms text, disclaimer, and email content, with a field for each translation.

Canadian debit cards are accepted alongside credit cards and digital wallets, for one-time donations. Network rules limit contactless debit donations to 250 CAD, so larger amounts need a credit card or a digital wallet.

To meet Canada Revenue Agency requirements, a Canadian campaign always collects the supporter's first name, last name, email address, and mailing address before the payment.

To get started, enable In-Person Giving under Settings > In-Person Giving.
