Choose how refunds appear in your CRM

You can now control how refunded donations appear in your CRM — as a zero amount, as the original net payout, or with no amount update at all.

Previously, Fundraise Up sent refunds as a negative net payout amount. That worked for some organizations, but others ran into problems with Salesforce rollups, internal dashboards, or reconciliation workflows that expected a zero instead of a negative value. Two new options in the integration's General settings let you choose how refunds sync:

  • Sync as zero — records the refund with an amount of 0 in your CRM instead of the net payout. The original donation amount is overwritten.
  • Sync only status — updates only the donation status in your CRM and leaves the original amount untouched. This preserves historical donation values for leaderboards, fundraiser metrics, and board reports.

If you don't update your settings, refunds continue to sync as a negative net payout amount — the same as before.

These options are available for Salesforce, Salesforce NPSP, Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud, Salesforce Education Cloud, and HubSpot.

Go to Settings > Integrations, open your CRM integration, and look for the new Refund sync mode dropdown under the General settings tab.

Changes take effect from the moment you save the settings — historical data is not migrated.
