Agentic Giving

Make your organization and campaigns readable to AI assistants that help supporters find a cause.

Donations that begin inside an AI assistant — an app like ChatGPT or Claude — are known as Agentic Giving. A  describes a cause in conversation, and the assistant recommends where to give.

An assistant recommends only what it can read, and it usually cannot read donation forms. A form loads its contents in the visitor browser, so an assistant that retrieves one of your pages receives the form without the name, the description, or the donation amounts. It cannot tell a supporter what you raise money for, or where to donate.

With Fundraise Up, you can give assistants a version of your campaigns that they can read. You turn Agentic Giving on in your , Fundraise Up automatically generates the AI-readable file, and you add a link on your website that points assistants to it. After that, an assistant that reads your site can name your to a supporter who asks where to donate, and point them to the campaign that fits.

Enable Agentic Giving

Setup happens in two places: your Dashboard and your website. Only an Organization Administrator can turn Agentic Giving on or off.

  1. Go to Settings > Agentic Giving.
  2. Click Preview Agentic Giving Profile, read what Fundraise Up will share about your organization, then click Close.
  3. Copy the snippet and add it to your homepage footer, next to links like Privacy Policy or Contact. The link must be visible and use the same styling classes as the other footer links. Assistants read the rendered page, so don’t place the link inside an HTML comment or hide it with CSS.
  4. In the Authorization section, read the Terms of Service, then check:
    • Allow Fundraise Up to share your active campaign data with AI assistants
    • Agree to the terms and authorize Fundraise Up as your Agentic Giving provider
  5. Click Enable.
If you see Agent profile link not found, Fundraise Up could not find the snippet on your website. Check the snippet and paste it again.

An assistant finds your profile the same way a search engine does — by reading your website and following the link. That means it arrives when the assistant next visits your site, not at a fixed point after you enable.

Fundraise Up does not guarantee placement or visibility in any AI assistant.

If you see “Stripe profile required”

If you see the Stripe profile required message during setup, it means that your Stripe account does not have the agentic profile that Agentic Giving needs to accept payments for your campaigns. In most cases, this profile is created automatically. If it was not, follow these steps:

  1. In the Stripe Dashboard, go to Stripe profile, then click Get started.
  2. Enter a display name and profile handle.
  3. (Optional) Add additional information, including a description, business website, business address, and business email.
  4. Click Create profile.

If you don’t see the Stripe profile option or unsure about the steps, contact your Fundraise Up customer success manager or email support@fundraiseup.com.

Disable Agentic Giving

To turn Agentic Giving off:

  1. Go to Settings > Agentic Giving.
  2. Click the three-dots (…) menu at the top right of the page.
  3. Click Disable Agentic Giving.

Fundraise Up stops sharing your data, and your agent profile no longer contains your organization or campaign details. Remove the link from your website as well.

Data assistants can read

The file Fundraise Up generates is called your agent profile. It is a Markdown file — plain text, with no code and no design, which is what makes it readable where your donation forms are not. It stays empty until you turn Agentic Giving on.

The profile includes these details about your organization:

  • The public name of your organization.
  • Your country.
  • Your primary website address.
  • Your Fundraise Up customer ID.
  • The date the profile was last updated.

It includes these details about your campaigns:

  • The campaign name and campaign ID.
  • The campaign description.
  • The default currency, and whether the campaign accepts other currencies.
  • The donation frequencies the campaign offers.
  • The suggested donation amounts.
  • Whether a supporter can enter a custom amount, and the minimum amount the campaign takes.
  • The address a supporter uses to donate to that campaign.

The profile covers up to 25 campaigns, but not every campaign is included:

  • Only live campaigns. Disabled and archived campaigns are excluded.
  • Only campaigns with or  enabled.
  • Only the 25 campaigns with the most donations over the last 30 days.

Fundraise Up rebuilds the profile every 15 minutes.

The profile does not include:

  • Supporter records of any kind — no names, email addresses, mailing addresses, or donation histories.
  • Donation amounts you have received, totals raised, or any other fundraising result.
  • Payment details, payout details, or payment methods.
  • Team members, Dashboard users, or account settings.
  • Campaigns that are not live, and campaigns a supporter cannot reach.

Donations from an assistant

When a supporter talks to an assistant about donating and the assistant decides your organization fits, it sends the supporter a link to the campaign it considers the closest match.

If the supporter named an amount or a frequency during that conversation, the assistant passes those values in the link, and your Campaign Page or Checkout Modal opens with the fields filled in. If not, the supporter enters the amount and frequency in checkout. The donation is then recorded in your account like any other donation through your checkout.

Security and data handling

Agentic Giving publishes your agent profile and relies on a link you add to your website. It does not change where a donation happens or how it is protected. A supporter who arrives through an AI assistant donates in your checkout, and their record is stored the same way as the record of a supporter who arrives from a search engine.

Payment details

An AI assistant is not part of the payment. It sends the supporter to your Campaign Page or Checkout Modal, and the donation runs through the same Fundraise Up checkout as every other donation on your website, with the same fraud, sanctions, geographic, and currency checks. No assistant receives card numbers or bank credentials at any point, and enabling Agentic Giving puts no new card data on your side.

Conversation data

Fundraise Up does not store the conversation between a supporter and an assistant. What Fundraise Up records is the source and the surface the donation came from. The assistant sees what the supporter types into the conversation, under the privacy terms of that platform, and it does not receive your supporter records.

What an assistant can say about your campaigns

Your agent profile names your live campaigns and carries your own descriptions of them. It also tells an assistant that when a supporter describes something that does not match one of your campaigns, the assistant should send them to your general giving page and ask them to choose, rather than name a program you do not run.

Your profile covers your campaigns and nothing else. When an assistant describes anything else about your organization — your history, your programs, your leadership — it draws on your public content. Fundraise Up does not operate these assistants and does not control their answers.

To change what your profile says, change your campaign names, descriptions, amounts, and currencies. The profile regenerates from them.

Certifications and terms

Fundraise Up holds SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS Level 1, and ISO 27001 certifications, and Agentic Giving falls inside their scope. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Fundraise Up runs servers primarily in the United States, with additional servers in the EU and Canada. A donation that starts with an assistant is stored exactly like any other donation, so nothing about data residency changes when you enable it.

Your Data Processing Agreement does not change. When you enable Agentic Giving, you accept the Agentic Giving Addendum to the Fundraise Up Terms of Service. The Addendum supplements your agreement and does not modify or supersede the Privacy Notice, the Data Processing Agreement, or any other data processing terms. Read it in the enablement flow before you enable.

Track donations from Agentic Giving

Donations that you receive from AI assistants appear in your Dashboard, exports, and CRM integrations like any other donation. To see them on their own, set the Source filter to Agent on the Donations and Recurring pages.

The Insights page covers your giving as a whole. In the Performance section, Total donations raised by AI and Total amount raised by AI cover Agentic Giving.

The Agentic Giving section of Insights breaks the results down by assistant, such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. It holds two charts:

  • Revenue raised by AI agents over time shows how much your campaigns collected directly through AI assistants.
  • Revenue raised by donors from AI chat referrals over time shows how much supporters gave after they found your campaign through an AI assistant and followed the link.
