For some regions, Fundraise Up offers specialized features to support local fundraising needs or requirements. These features are described below.

Australia

BECS Direct Debit

Fundraise Up supports BECS Direct Debit, enabling Australian supporters to contribute to your organization through a direct debit donation. Funds are then transferred to your account automatically and securely. This payment method provides a convenient way for supporters to make recurring or one-time payments.

Receipting

Fundraise Up provides Australia-compliant donation receipts that meet the requirements of the Australian Taxation Office. Receipts are generated electronically and emailed to supporters, including all the required details like donation amount, supporter name, payment method, and the name of your organization.

Canada

Address requirements

The Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) require that registered charities collect mailing addresses for supporters. To address this requirement, the address screen in Checkout is always displayed to supporters, and supporters are required to provide their address details.

Language localization

Fundraise Up supports localization of supporter-facing experiences into Canadian English and Canadian French.

Pre-authorized debits (PADs)

A payment method that enables supporters to authorize your organization to withdraw donation installments directly from their bank account on a recurring basis. Fundraise Up's pre-authorized debits feature allows nonprofits to securely collect donations made using this payment method.

Receipting

When supporters make a donation to a Canadian organization, they will be emailed a donation receipt that meets the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). This receipt includes the supporter’s name, the amount of the donation, and the charitable organization's name and registration number. The receipt also includes a statement that the donation is eligible for a tax credit. Organizations can also view and export a report of all donations and associated donation receipts for their Canadian organization.

Donation receipts are also localized into both Canadian English and Canadian French.

Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)

This authentication is based on two-factor identification, which requires customers to provide two out of three forms of authentication: something they know (like a password), something they have (like a personal device or card), and something they are (like a biometric identifier). SCA helps to protect customers and their payment information from fraud and identity theft.

Title field

In the UK, supporters must provide a title (such as "Mr.", "Mrs.", or "Ms.") when making a donation. Fundraise Up includes a field for supporters to provide their title so that Gift Aid can be properly applied to their donation.

United States

CCPA compliance

Fundraise Up is CCPA compliant, meaning that we have taken all necessary steps to help ensure that organizations and supporters in the US comply with California's data privacy regulations. This includes providing US-based organizations and supporters with the ability to access, delete, and opt-out of the sale of their personal information.

European Union

Address requirement

Some European countries require that you collect mailing addresses for supporters. In these cases, Fundraise Up may automatically require the address screen in the Checkout process.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

We have implemented measures to ensure that all data collected through our platform is stored securely and that individuals have the right to access, delete, or opt-out of the sharing of their personal information.

iDEAL

A Netherlands-based payment method, available in the Benelux countries and Germany, that enables supporters to donate using their bank credentials. All major Dutch banks are members of Currence, the organization that operates iDEAL, making it the most popular online payment option in the Netherlands with a market share of around 55%.
