Enabling Non-Rounded Donation Amounts

By default, Fundraise Up does not allow supporters to enter cents or decimal amounts when making a donation. However, there may be instances where you want to enable non-rounded donation amounts for specific campaigns or promotions.

Why Non-Rounded Amounts are Disabled by Default

Fundraise Up applies best practices from e-commerce strategies to optimize the donation experience. Research findings from e-commerce and retail studies have shown that:

  1. Whole Number Preference: A majority of online consumers tend to choose rounded amounts over partial amounts when making purchases or donations.
  2. Feelings of Rightness: Rounded amounts often produce feelings of "rightness" or appropriateness in a substantial number of consumers, leading to higher conversion rates.

Based on these insights, Fundraise Up disables the ability for donors to enter cents or decimal amounts by default. This default setting aims to maximize donation conversion rates and provide a streamlined donation experience.

Enabling Non-Rounded Donation Amounts

While the default setting is to use rounded donation amounts, Fundraise Up allows you to enable non-rounded amounts on your account if required. Here's the revised process:

  1. Contact Your Customer Success Manager or Support Team: Reach out to your dedicated Fundraise Up Success Manager or our Support Team and request the ability to enable non-rounded donation amounts on your account.
  2. Implement Non-Rounded Amounts: Once your request is approved, the feature will be enabled on your account. The decimal values will be automatically available in the checkout process on all campaigns, allowing supporters to enter their preferred decimal amounts on donation forms.
