Neon CRM: Custom Consent mapping rules

If your organization uses Data Privacy & Consent in Neon CRM, Fundraise Up syncs the supporter’s email consent status automatically. Other consent preferences, such as SMS, phone, or postal mail, are not synced to Neon CRM’s built-in consent fields by the current integration.

To store these additional consent preferences in Neon CRM, create Account-level custom fields in Neon CRM and map Fundraise Up consent values to those fields in your Neon CRM integration settings.

What syncs automatically

For each donation, Fundraise Up sends the supporter’s email consent status to Neon CRM when the Email field is active in Neon CRM’s Data Privacy & Consent settings.

Fundraise Up updates Neon CRM’s Email consent as follows:

  • If the supporter agrees to receive emails, Neon CRM receives Given.
  • If the supporter does not agree to receive emails, Neon CRM receives Declined.

What does not sync automatically

Fundraise Up does not automatically sync additional consent types to Neon CRM’s built-in consent fields, including:

  • SMS consent
  • Phone consent
  • Postal mail consent
  • Other custom consent options

These consent types also cannot be mapped directly to Neon CRM’s built-in consent fields through Mapping Rules.

Why do custom questions not appear in Mapping Rules

Neon CRM has separate tools for Custom Fields and Custom Questions. Fundraise Up can detect Neon CRM Custom Fields for mapping, but it does not pull Custom Questions into the integration’s Mapping Rules.

If you created a Custom Question in Neon CRM, it will not appear as an available Neon CRM field in Fundraise Up.

Create custom fields in Neon CRM

To map additional consent preferences from Fundraise Up to Neon CRM:

  1. In Neon CRM, click Settings and open Global Settings.
  2. Under Custom Fields, select Account.
  3. Click New Custom Field.
  4. Enter an Internal Field Name and Public Field Label.
  5. Set Display Type to Text Input-Single Line.
  6. Set Data Type to Text.
  7. Create one field for each consent value you want to store, such as:
    • SMS consent
    • Phone consent
    • Postal mail consent
  8. Save the fields in Neon CRM.

After the fields are created, they should become available in the Neon CRM integration’s Mapping Rules in Fundraise Up.
