Can I delete test donations?
No. Test donations can’t be deleted from the Fundraise Up Dashboard.
Test donations don’t move real money, but they still create transaction records in Fundraise Up and in the connected payment processor. These records are kept so your test history stays consistent for troubleshooting, integration testing, receipts, exports, and recurring donation behavior.
Why test donations can’t be deleted
Test donations are simulated transactions, but they still help verify how Fundraise Up processes donation data. Keeping these records makes it possible to review what happened during testing and troubleshoot issues later.
For example, test donation records can be useful when you need to check:
- whether a checkout flow worked as expected,
- whether donation emails or receipts were generated correctly,
- whether a recurring test plan was created,
- whether an export included the expected fields,
- whether a CRM or platform integration received the expected data.
Because of this, test donations remain available in Test mode instead of being removed from the Dashboard.
Will test donations affect live data?
No. Test donations are stored separately from live donations.
By default, your Dashboard shows only live data. Test donations don’t appear in your live donation list, reports, or statistics.
To view test donations:
- Click your name in the bottom-left corner of the Dashboard.
- Turn on Test data.
- Go to Donations to review donations created in Test mode.
- Turn off Test data when you want to return to live data.
What about exports and reporting?
Test donations don’t affect live Dashboard totals or live reports.
If you need to review or export test donation data, first turn on Test data, then use the relevant Dashboard section, such as Donations or Exports. This keeps test activity separate from real donation reporting.
What if test donations synced to my CRM?
Test donations only sync to connected CRMs or other platforms if Sync test data is enabled in the integration settings.
If test donations appeared in your CRM or connected platform:
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Open the relevant integration.
- Check whether Sync test data is enabled.
- Turn it off after testing is complete if you don’t want future test donations to sync.
Use Sync test data only when you want to verify integration behavior before going live, such as field mapping, donation records, recurring plans, and sync status.
What can I do instead?
Since test donations can’t be deleted, use these options to keep your workspace clean:
- Turn off Test data when you don’t need to view test records.
- Cancel any recurring test plans you no longer need.
- Use clearly named test campaigns, designations, and supporter details while testing.
- Turn off Sync test data after integration testing is complete.
- Create final live campaigns and settings separately from temporary test configurations when possible.
Keeping test data separate helps your team validate the full donation flow without changing or removing real transaction history.
