Why is Fundraise Up mentioned on my bank statement with Stripe?

Firstly, it's important to note that Fundraise Up does not process donations directly. We rely on trusted third-party payment processors like Stripe to handle payment transactions for our platform. When donations are made through our checkout, Stripe mentions Fundraise Up as the Vendor or Platform.

Secondly, Fundraise Up does not have any access or permission to charge payments from your Stripe account. Our transaction costs are deducted from the donations, and we do not charge any subscription fees.

If you see Fundraise Up mentioned on your bank statement with Stripe, it may be because your Stripe account was created through our platform. When setting up your account to work with our platform, using Stripe as a payment processor is necessary to receive donations and go live. We offer two options in our Dashboard for organizations - connecting an existing Stripe account or creating a new one through our platform.

If you choose to create a new Stripe account through our platform, Stripe records that the account was created via Fundraise Up. Therefore, if other platforms are connected to the same Stripe account, and they initiate a charge, such as a pre-authorized debit, the debit statement may mention Fundraise Up in such fields as Reference or Extended TransactionReference. It's important to note that this does not mean the debit amount has any relation to Fundraise Up. The mention is solely due to the creation of the Stripe account through our platform.

If any Fundraise Up donations from your Stripe account are confusing or require additional clarification, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. We will promptly reply and provide any necessary information to help clarify the situation. For any questions regarding the Stripe dashboard or any information from Stripe, Stripe support is the best to consult, as they have complete and up-to-date information on the matter.
