Why isn't the PayPal option available for recurring donations in checkout?

If the PayPal option isn't available in your checkout for recurring donations, there's a simple explanation: PayPal doesn't allow subscription payments by default.

PayPal cannot be used for recurring giving unless Reference Transactions has been enabled for your PayPal Business account.

However, there's good news.

Please note that activation is not immediate, and you may need to wait a couple of business days for PayPal to approve recurring payments. Once this is done, the option to use PayPal for recurring donations in the checkout will be automatically available.
