Benefits of using Virtual Terminal

Virtual Terminal is a Fundraise Up Dashboard tool for processing in-person and phone donations.

Use Virtual Terminal for direct donation processing

Use Virtual Terminal to process donations during telethons, call center campaigns, door-to-door fundraising, and in-person events.

Process donations in Dashboard

Use the Virtual Terminal interface to process donations directly in Dashboard instead of asking supporters to complete a standard checkout form.

Use supported payment methods

Virtual Terminal supports these payment methods:

  • Cards.
  • ACH Direct Debit.
  • Bacs Direct Debit.
  • SEPA Direct Debit.
  • BECS.
  • Canadian PAD.
  • Saved payment methods.

For card donations, configure CVC or CVV verification as optional or required. Virtual Terminal uses Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO) processing, which bypasses additional verification checks such as 3D Secure (3DS).

Schedule donations

Create recurring plans with future start dates or schedule one-time donations for future processing dates.

ACH payments cannot be scheduled for a future date. Select Now as the processing date for ACH payments.

Track Virtual Terminal donations

Dashboard assigns the Virtual Terminal source to donations processed through Virtual Terminal. This source helps you track these donations. Virtual Terminal also helps reduce security alerts caused by multiple donations from one supporter or repeated payment-information errors.

Set the supporter language

Select the supporter’s preferred language for emails and Donor Portal.
