How to add Elements to a Squarespace website

Add a Donate Button to the site header

To add a Donate Button to your Squarespace website, follow these steps:

1. In the Squarespace page editor, hover over the site header and select Edit Site Header.
2. Select the Add Elements button.
3. Toggle on the Button option.
4. Select the button that appears, then click Edit Button.
5. In the URL property of the Link section, enter a hash sign (#) followed by the ID of the Element you want to display in the header. Find the Element ID in its code snippet. In this example, the ID is XTGWFZFR, so enter #XTGWFZFR.

Add embedded Elements to page sections

Use these steps for website Elements that provide an HTML code snippet, such as Donate Button, Donation Form, or Goal Meter. Sticky Button and overlay Elements are managed in Dashboard and do not require a Squarespace Code block.

1. In Dashboard, create and customize an Element.
2. Copy the Element’s HTML code.
3. In the Squarespace page editor, open the page where you want the Element to appear.
4. Select Add Block in the main content area.
5. Choose Code.
6. Click Edit.
7. Paste the Element’s HTML code into the Squarespace Code block.
8. Save your changes and preview your website to ensure that the Element appears and works as expected.

Repeat these steps for each embedded Element that provides an HTML code snippet.
