Donation Options for In-App Browsers

Clicking a link within a social media app like Facebook or Instagram often redirects you to the app's built-in browser, known as an in-app browser. While Fundraise Up works with these in-app browsers, there are some limitations on payment method options to ensure a seamless donation experience.

Supporters who visit your donation page via an in-app browser can continue to make contributions through the Fundraise Up checkout process. However, the displayed payment methods may differ from those available in a standard web browser.

Payment methods available in in-app browsers:

  • Credit/Debit Card
  • Bank transfer

Payment methods not available in in-app browsers:

  • Google Pay
  • Apple Pay
  • Venmo
  • PayPal

The reason for this restriction is that certain payment methods require a specific type of pop-up window that is not supported by in-app browsers. To prevent a potentially negative supporter experience, Fundraise Up automatically hides these incompatible payment methods when a user is accessing the donation page through an in-app browser.

Supporters using in-app browsers can still securely complete their donations using the available payment options, ensuring a seamless giving experience while maintaining compatibility with the browser environment.
