Why can't I see the Bacs Direct Debit payment method in the Virtual Terminal?

If you're trying to process a donation via the Virtual Terminal and can't see Bacs Direct Debit as an option, even though it's enabled for your account, follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Confirm direct debits are enabled for your Virtual Terminal. You can check this in the Virtual Terminal section of your account settings.
  • Remember, Bacs Direct Debit is only available for recurring donations. Ensure you've selected the recurring donation type in the Virtual Terminal.
  • Bacs Direct Debit requires the donor's mailing address. It will only show up in the Virtual Terminal if the selected campaign requires a mailing address during checkout. Make sure "Ask for the mailing address" is enabled for the specific campaign.
