How to Add Fundraise Up Code and Elements to Google Sites
Google Sites is a user-friendly website builder that allows you to create and customize your own website. However, due to its limitations, such as the absence of a <head>
section, adding Fundraise Up Elements to your Google Sites website requires a specific approach. This guide will walk you through the process of adding Fundraise Up Elements to your Google Sites website step by step.
Step 1: Obtain the Fundraise Up Installation Code
- Log in to your Fundraise Up Dashboard.
- Navigate to Settings > Installation.
- Copy the Installation Code.
Step 2: Create and Copy Element Embed Code
- In a separate browser tab, go to the Elements tab.
- Create the desired Element (e.g., Donation Form, Donation Button) or select an existing one.
- Note the Embed Element code, which you will need to copy later.
Step 3: Access Your Google Sites Page
- Open Google Sites and navigate to the desired page where you want to add the Fundraise Up element.
Step 4: Insert Custom HTML
- In the Google Sites editor, go to the Insert tab.
- Click on the Embed option (represented by the "<>" icon).
- A Custom HTML dialog box will appear.
Step 5: Paste Installation Code and Element Embed Code
- In the Custom HTML dialog box, paste the Fundraise Up Installation Code first.
- Below the Installation Code, paste the Element Embed Code you copied.
- Note: Each Fundraise Up Element you add to your website should include both the Installation Code and the Element Embed Code.
Step 6: Save and Publish
- Click on the Next and Save buttons to save the changes.
- In the upper right corner of the Google Sites editor, click on the Publish button to make the changes live on your website.
Limitations and Considerations
- Overlay Elements like Reminders, Message Bars, Social Proofs, and Popups are not compatible with Google Sites due to the absence of a
<head>
section.
