Understanding Social Proof Element Behavior

Social Proof is a powerful Element in Fundraise Up that displays pop-up alerts to visitors, showcasing recent donations made by others. These alerts not only provide social validation but also allow visitors to click and donate directly from the pop-up.

What Does Social Proof Do?

  1. Displays Real-Time Donation Information: Social Proof Elements show pop-up messages with information about real donations made on the organization's website.
  2. Opens the Same Donation Campaign: When a visitor clicks on a Social Proof pop-up, it opens the same donation campaign through which the original donation was made.
    • If the original donation had a specific designation, that same designation is passed to the Checkout modal or Campaign Page.
    • The donation amount is not passed to the checkout process because the purpose of Social Proof is to draw attention, not to enforce a specific donation amount.

Data Displayed by Social Proof

  1. Non-Anonymous Live Charges: Social Proof Elements display non-anonymous live donations from the current account (excluding sub-accounts).
  2. Organization Name: If the donation was made on behalf of an organization and the supporter’s name option is not set to "hide," the organization's name will be displayed instead of the supporter's name.
