How to add the Fundraise Up installation code to a Wix website
Wix is a cloud-based website builder that lets you create a site without coding. To connect your Wix website to Fundraise Up, you must add your installation code to the global <head> of your site. Once installed, Fundraise Up features such as the Checkout modal and Elements will activate automatically.
1. Get your installation code
Your installation code is unique to your organization and must be copied directly from your Dashboard.
To get your installation code:
- Log in to your Fundraise Up Dashboard.
- Go to Settings → Installation.
- Copy the full installation code.
This code must be added to your website exactly as shown.
2. Add the installation code to your Wix website
Wix allows adding custom scripts to all pages through its global header. This is where your Fundraise Up installation code must be placed.
To install your code on Wix:
- Go to Settings > Advanced > Custom Code in your site's dashboard.
- Click + Add Custom Code in the top right.
- Paste your installation code into the text box.
- Enter a name for the script.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose one of the following:
- All pages (recommended): Adds the code to every page of your site, including new pages you create.
- Choose whether the code loads once per visit or on every page view.
- Choose specific pages: Select pages individually.
- Under Place Code in, select:
- Head
- Click Apply.
Your Wix website is now connected to Fundraise Up.
3. Using Fundraise Up Elements on Wix
Wix does not support adding raw HTML blocks that some Elements require. Only global elements, which load automatically from the installation code, can be used without embedding anything in the page.
Below is the full list of global elements supported on Wix.
Links
- Donate Link
- Fundraisers Link
- QR Code (only manual upload is supported or scan to launch the checkout modal)
- Scanning a QR Code is fully supported. If a supporter scans your Fundraise Up QR Code, they will be sent to Checkout on your website.
- Embedding the QR Code Element is not supported on Wix. As a workaround, you can download the QR code as an image and upload it to Wix like any other image.
Overlays
- Message Bar
- Popup
- Reminder
- Social Proof
These elements will appear on your site as soon as they are created in your Dashboard, depending on their visibility settings.
4. Create a Donate Link element
As Wix restricts embedded HTML elements, the Donate Link is the most flexible and reliable way to send supporters to Checkout.
To create a Donate Link:
- Go to Elements page in your Dashboard.
- Click New Element button.
- Select Donate Link.
- Set Open campaign to the campaign you want to use.
- Save the element.
- Copy the provided URL.
5. Add the Donate Link to your Wix website
You can add your Donate Link to any element (button, image, text, vector art) or to your site menu.
Add a link to an element
- Click the Link icon (🔗) on the element.
- Select the link type Web Address and enter your Donate Link URL.
- Click Done.
