How to restart a failed recurring plan?

Fundraise Up account default option uses machine learning to determine when to set a recurring plan's status to Failed after charge attempts have been made, helping organizations to avoid unnecessary charges and reduce the risk of fraud. This default setting balances the opportunity to recover a recurring plan with avoiding potential fees for charge failures.

If a recurring plan has failed, there is still a way to restart it! There could be different reasons for installment failure, some of which can be easily resolved. Both the organization in the Dashboard and the donor in the Donor Portal can Edit Payment Details to restart the failed recurring donation. For example, restarting a failed recurring donation can be useful in cases where a donor has experienced issues with their credit card and has since had the card reissued, but still wishes to continue the recurring plan that previously failed.
