- The standard fee for cryptocurrency donations is 5%.
In addition to the Fundraise Up fee, organizations are charged by payment processors (Stripe, PayPal, or Gemini). With the nonprofit discount, qualifying organizations can enjoy a reduced Stripe transaction fee of 2.2% + $0.30 and a reduced PayPal transaction fee of 1.99% + $0.49 per transaction.
6. How is the transaction fee coverage calculated for supporters?
The system uses an algorithm that considers multiple factors to calculate the fee coverage amount. The calculated amount is not precise and does not equal the actual transaction costs because the fee coverage is calculated before the supporter chooses the payment method. On average, 92% of supporters choose to cover transaction costs, making fundraising virtually cost-free.

In such cases (for example, in Mexico and Brazil), Fundraise Up sends a monthly invoice for the fees from all donations received in the previous month.
8. How do organizations receive their funds?
Funds are sent immediately through your connected payment processor account. Fundraise Up never holds your funds.
