Position Overview
We’re looking for an agile Director of Sales who thrives in high-growth, fast-changing environments—someone ready to take full ownership of our growth strategy, build and expand new verticals, and lead with confidence and accountability. This role will be responsible for identifying, developing, and executing go-to-market strategies that drive revenue growth in new geographic territories, and untapped industry verticals. You’ll be a player-coach, building and leading cross-functional pods (AEs, SEs, PMs, CS, Partnerships, Marketing) to drive expansion into new segments.
Your initial focus will be on expanding our presence in the UK and EU, and driving business in the US Education vertical. The ideal candidate combines entrepreneurial vision with operational excellence to build scalable sales motions from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Market Development
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies for emerging markets and priority vertical segments
- Establish revenue targets, KPIs, and success metrics for emerging segments
- Identify additional high-potential geographic markets and industry verticals aligned with company growth objectives
Sales Leadership & Team Management
- Build, lead, and mentor cross-functional pods of AEs, SEs, PMs, CS, Partnerships and Marketing
- Design territory and account assignment structures that optimize coverage and resource allocation
- Implement sales methodologies, processes, and best practices tailored to new market dynamics
Revenue Generation & Pipeline Management
- Own revenue targets and quota attainment for assigned emerging markets and verticals
- Drive new customer acquisition and expansion within targeted segments; navigate complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to communicate market requirements and influence roadmap priorities
- Work closely with Marketing to develop vertical-specific messaging, content, and campaigns
- Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs and set the stage for cross-sell, up-sell opportunities in new segments
Experience
- 10+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 3 years managing teams
- Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- Demonstrated experience of managing an individual quota of $2mn +, team quota of $5mn+
- Proven track record of successfully launching and scaling sales in European markets and new verticals
- Experience selling complex solutions with deal sizes ranging from mid-market to enterprise
- Demonstrated success in building sales teams and processes
- History of consistently exceeding revenue targets and KPIs
- Experience with SaaS, technology, or platform sales
- Experience with product-led growth or hybrid sales models
- Understanding of emerging market dynamics, including cultural, regulatory, and economic factors
- Fluency in English; multilingual capabilities in European languages a plus
