A platform that wasn’t optimized for multichannel giving
Boys & Girls Clubs of America provides mentorships, programs, and after-school activities to nearly four million young people through its 4,300 clubs. To sustain its programming, BGCA runs year-round fundraising campaigns through its web, email, direct mail, and corporate partnerships channels.
But donors were running into problems when they went online to respond to BGCA’s appeals. Friction in the donation experience prevented most donors from giving, reducing the effectiveness of the organization’s campaigns. BGCA needed a solution that could unify its channels, improve campaign performance, and provide donors with an easy way to give.

Boys & Girls Clubs of America chose Fundraise Up because it offered the most streamlined way to collect donations from donors responding to its campaign appeals. Donors can now give using digital wallets, easily opt in to monthly support, and donate using personalized gift amounts.
BGCA is also using CTAs and QR codes that it generates within the platform to engage donors through both online and offline channels.
BGCA found particular success with email marketing. Enhanced with trackable links from its Fundraise Up account, BGCA email appeals now point to a donation checkout on bgca.org. Using Fundraise Up’s URL API, the BGCA team pre-fills much of the donor’s information for them, reducing the time it takes to donate. The result is greater revenue across BGCA’s fundraising channels.
