Key Insights

  • The Frictionless Inflection Point: Donors aren't just moving to mobile. They're moving to payment methods that skip the card-entry step entirely. Apple Pay and Google Pay are becoming the donation form, and credit card share is declining across all four markets.
  • Gift Sizes Reversed Course: After a year of shrinking gift amounts, one-time gift averages jumped in Q1 2026 (US +15.4%, Canada +15.6%). Whether it holds through Q2 is the open question, but the early signal is strong.
  • Social Is Splintering: LinkedIn and Instagram conversion rates grew substantially in the US. YouTube declined. UK Facebook surged. Australia dropped across the board. Social isn't one channel anymore, and treating it like one is costing you.
  • Mail Still Delivers: While digital gets the attention, mail conversion is surging across every market, the highest-converting traffic type in the dataset. The strongest Q1 gains are concentrated where digital and mail work together.
