What changes when in-person giving is part of your platform

Every gift collected in person lands in the same donor record as your online giving, so your team leaves every event with a complete picture of who gave.

Any device becomes a donation terminal

A fundraiser downloads the Fundraise Up app, logs in, and is ready to collect in minutes from the phone already in their pocket.

Every donation lands in your dashboard

Each gift is attributed to the right campaign and saved to the donor record alongside online giving — no spreadsheets, no imports, no reconciliation.

The tap is the start of the relationship

Donors don’t disappear after the event. Each in-person gift is connected to giving history and ready for follow-up that turns a one-time gift into recurring support.

How it works

From download to first donation in minutes.
  1. Download and log in. Install the Fundraise Up app and log in with your organization’s credentials.
  2. Select campaign, enter amount. Choose the campaign, enter the amount, and optionally capture the donor’s name and email.
  3. Donor taps to donate. The donor taps their card or phone to the device. Stripe processes the payment in seconds.
  4. Donation is recorded, receipt is sent. The donation appears in your dashboard instantly. Right campaign, right donor, receipt generated.

FAQ

Where is Tap to Donate available?

Tap to Donate is currently available only for events in the United States.

Do I need to be an existing Fundraise Up customer?

Yes. Tap to Donate is part of the Fundraise Up platform and requires an organization account.

How is this different from Square or a card reader?

Square processes a payment. Tap to Donate processes a donation, attributed to a campaign and linked to a donor record in the same platform as your online giving. The gift shows up in your dashboard, connects to the donor's history, and is ready for follow-up. A standalone terminal can't do that.

Do we need a card reader or dedicated hardware?

No. Tap to Donate turns a supported smartphone into a donation terminal — no card reader, no external hardware, no new vendor. If your fundraisers have a compatible phone, they're ready to collect.

What devices are supported?

iPhone XS or newer running iOS 16.4+ and compatible NFC-capable Android phones running Android 11+. Tap to Donate isn’t supported on iPads, Android tablets, or external terminals at this time.

Is it safe for staff and volunteers to install this on their personal phones?

Yes. Payments run through Stripe; card data isn’t stored on the device, and specialists have tightly scoped access.

Can multiple staff or volunteers collect donations at the same event?

Yes. Multiple specialists can collect in parallel; each specialist sees only the donations they collected.

What donor information does the app capture?

First name, last name, email, and phone. For one-time gifts it can be skipped; for recurring gifts it’s required.

Can supporters give recurring donations?

Yes. Tap to Donate supports recurring giving at any frequency enabled on the campaign: daily, weekly, biweekly, every 4 weeks, monthly, bimonthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually.

Does it work without WiFi or cell service?

No. An internet connection is required (cellular is fine). If the connection drops mid-transaction, the card isn’t charged.
