Organizations have reported 3-6 month processing times for Gemini institutional account applications.

Implement Gemini

Follow the steps below to connect Fundraise Up to Gemini.

Prerequisites

  • You must have administrative access to your Gemini account.
  • You must have access to your organization’s Fundraise Up account with a user that has the Organization Administrator user role.

Step 1: Create an API key in Gemini

  1. Log in to your Gemini account.
  2. Select Account in the top menu bar.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. In the sidebar menu, select API.
  5. Click Create API key.
  6. When prompted to choose a scope, select Primary, then click Next.
  7. Input a name for your API key in the API key name field. We recommend: “Fundraise Up API key.”
  8. Copy the API key value to a safe place, such as a password manager.
  9. Copy the API secret value to safe place, such as a password manager.
  10. Select Fund management as the API key settings option.
    Ensure that the Uses a time based nonce option is not selected. If this option is selected, the integration will not work.
  11. Select the option to acknowledge that your API secret has been saved to a safe place.
  12. Select Create API key.

Step 2: Connect Gemini to Fundraise Up

  1. Log in to Fundraise Up.
  2. Click your name in the upper-right corner of the Dashboard, and click Settings.
  3. Select Payment methods from the side menu.
  4. In the Payment processors section, select Gemini.
  5. Click on Gemini.
  6. In the API key field, input the API key you copied from Gemini.
  7. In the API secret field, input the API secret you copied from Gemini.
  8. Click Connect.

Fundraise Up is now connected to Gemini and you can enable Crypto as a donation method in any of your campaigns’ payment method settings.
