Gift TitleThe title of the gift, or the name of the person or animal, up to 120 characters. Required for every new gift or profile. To add a translation, fill in the column for that language, such as Gift Title [fr] for French.
Gift TypeSymbolic gift for a Gift Cart gift, Human sponsorship for a person, or Animal sponsorship for an animal. Required for every new gift or profile. The type of an existing gift or profile can’t be changed. If an update row has a different type, it will be ignored.

Content

ColumnWhat to enter
Gift DescriptionThe text supporters read about the gift, person, or animal, up to 500 characters. To add a translation, fill in the column for that language, such as Gift Description [fr].
Gift Media URLLinks to photos and videos, separated by commas: • Photos: public links to JPEG, PNG, or GIF files of at least 1144×642 px. • Videos: YouTube or Vimeo links. New links are added after the media the gift or profile already has, up to 8 in total. Links it already has are skipped, so an exported file won’t add duplicates.
BadgeThe name of the badge to show on the gift or profile, such as Emergency, up to 18 characters. If the catalog has no badge with this name, Fundraise Up will create a custom badge. This column works only if badges are enabled in the catalog settings. To translate the name of a new badge, fill in the column for that language, such as Badge [fr].
CategoriesThe categories supporters can use to find the gift or profile, separated by commas, such as Education,Health. Up to 30 characters each. If a category doesn’t exist in the catalog yet, Fundraise Up will create it. The categories you enter replace the current ones, so include every category the gift or profile needs to keep. This column works only if categories are enabled in the catalog settings. To translate new categories, fill in the column for that language with the names in the same order, such as Categories [fr].

Frequencies and amounts

Each gift or profile can have up to two frequencies. Columns that start with Frequency 1 apply to the first frequency, and columns that start with Frequency 2 apply to the second.

ColumnWhat to enter
Frequency 1, Frequency 2How often supporters can give: Once, Daily, Weekly, Biweekly, Every 4 Weeks, Monthly, Bimonthly, Quarterly, Semiannual, or Annual. The frequency needs to be enabled for your account, and the two columns can’t have the same value. If both are empty for a new gift or profile, it gets Once and Monthly. For a sponsorship profile, include at least one recurring frequency. Only a recurring donation makes a supporter a sponsor.
Default FrequencyThe frequency supporters see selected first. It needs to be one of the two frequencies of the gift or profile. If it’s empty for a new gift or sponsorship profile, it’s Monthly. If the gift or profile doesn’t have Monthly, it’s the one in Frequency 1.
Frequency 1 Default Amount, Frequency 2 Default AmountThe amount supporters see first for this frequency, such as 50. Enter a whole number from 1 to 999,999 in the default currency of the catalog. It can’t be lower than the minimum amount.
Frequency 1 Allow Changing Amount, Frequency 2 Allow Changing AmountTRUE lets supporters enter their own amount. FALSE fixes the amount, so every supporter gives the default amount.
Frequency 1 Minimum Amount, Frequency 2 Minimum AmountThe lowest amount supporters can enter for this frequency, such as 10. It applies only when Allow Changing Amount is TRUE, and it can’t be higher than the default amount or the presets.
Frequency 1 Enable Presets, Frequency 2 Enable PresetsTRUE shows amount buttons that supporters can click instead of entering an amount. FALSE hides them.
Frequency 1 Presets, Frequency 2 PresetsThe amounts for the second and third buttons, separated by a comma, such as 75,120. The default amount is always the first button, so don’t include it. The amounts you enter replace the current ones. They apply only when Enable Presets is TRUE.

Designations

ColumnWhat to enter
Designations ModeAssigned sends every donation to one designation. Selectable lets supporters choose a designation from a list. Sponsorship profiles can use only Assigned. If it’s empty for a new gift or profile, it’s Assigned.
Designation IDThe ID of the designation that receives the donations. For Selectable, enter two or more IDs, separated by commas. The designations need to exist already, so create new ones in the Dashboard before the import. If the cell is empty for a new gift or profile, it gets your account’s default designation. The IDs you enter replace the current ones.
Default DesignationFor Selectable only: the ID of the designation supporters see selected first. It needs to be one of the IDs in Designation ID. If it’s empty, the first designation in the list is selected.

Donation matching

ColumnWhat to enter
Donation Matching EnabledTRUE adds a matching amount to donations to this gift or profile. This column works only if donation matching in the catalog settings is set to For a specific gift.
Donation Matching RatioHow much is added to each donation, from 2:1 to 1:10. With 1:1, a $10 donation is matched with another $10. It applies only when Donation Matching Enabled is TRUE.

ColumnWhat to enter

The default is MM-DD-YYYY (month, day, year), such as 04-25-2015 for April 25, 2015. The date can’t be in the future. Supporters see only the age, not the date of birth.
