Chariot
Connect Chariot to let supporters give from their donor-advised funds through DAFpay.
Chariot is the payment processor for DAFpay, the payment method supporters use to give from a donor-advised fund (DAF). To offer DAFpay, connect a Chariot account to Fundraise Up.
Before you connect
- Your organization must be based in the United States.
- Your organization's Tax ID must be set in your account settings, under Settings > Account. Chariot uses it to find and verify your organization.
- You must have the Organization Administrator role in Fundraise Up.
Connect Chariot
- In your Fundraise Up Dashboard, go to Settings > Payment methods.
- Under Payment processors, select Chariot.
- Click Connect Chariot account.
If your organization already has a Chariot account, it connects right away. The page shows your account name and Tax ID, so you can confirm that the right organization is linked.
If your organization is new to Chariot, the page prompts you to set up an account first:
- Click Start Chariot onboarding.
- Complete the steps on Chariot's website. Chariot asks for your organization's EIN — the same number as your Tax ID — and for an authorized representative, such as an executive director or finance lead, who confirms their identity to activate the account.
- Return to the Chariot page in Fundraise Up, refresh it, and connect.
If the page reports that your Tax ID isn't set, Chariot cannot match your organization. Add it under Settings > Account, then return to the Chariot page and connect. Set your Tax ID →
DAFpay is now active. It appears as a payment option when the supporter is making a one-time donation in US dollars.
